At Fit to be Fab, we know exercise is an important step towards your health and fitness, but for most clients it will not translate into any significant weight loss unless coupled with the right nutrition. Since most of us are not very good at estimating how many calories we expend during exercise, we often overcompensate by eating more during the course of the day! It is quite typical that those who exercise eat about 2 to 3 times the amount of calories that they actually burned, due to a sense of “entitlement” as a reward for working out. That approach will not lead to any weight loss and sometimes might even result in a weight gain… all despite working out!
The cornerstone of our nutritional approach is to coach our clients on how to change their current eating habits and to start eating healthy for life. We educate them in the areas of appropriate calories/carbs/protein consumption for their body composition type and develop custom meal plans for them to follow. We do not sell any pre-packaged meal plans or packs, but rather teach our clients how to shop and cook towards attaining healthy lifestyles for the rest of their lives. Those clients that follow our nutrition protocol coupled with our regular training sessions typically lose between 6 to 8 lbs per month.
In addition to our private nutrition coaching, the studio periodically holds Nutrition workshops and events, focusing on women’s needs and concerns specific to various stages of life cycles and/or medical conditions.
